We are not licensed transportation company for State of Nevada, as same as most of other limo companies in LA.
Las Vegas trip is common to Los Angeles Limo companies.
There are many rumor and conjecture about legality and license for Vegas trip.
I personally contacted to Chief of enforcement in State of Nevada Department of Transportation.
His answer for my question was
* Nevada DOT control only intra-state transportation they don't control inter-state transportation.
* We (California Limo) are legally Drop-off, Pick-up to and from Nevada or stay with clients and drive around as long as there is state-line between origin and destination in trip.
* We are NOT allowed to pick up any additional passengers from Nevada and drop them in Nevada.
(Because it would be intra-state trip, even only part of passengers)
to meet requirement of State of Nevada Department of transportation, We must do following when we do Nevada trip.
1.
We Must have name of all passengers in written trip sheet (AKA Weigh bill or Trip order, in any form with origin and destination, Date of trip).
i.e.1
If I have only 5 names on my paper and I have 7 passengers in my limo, Nevada DOT enforcement officer will confiscate my limo and you will have to find another limo to go back home.
i.e.2
Most likely Nevada DOT enforcement officer will ask name to each passenger and check with list of names on our paper.
If name of passenger will be deferent than names on my paper, they may confiscate my limo.
Because officer may think we picked up additional passengers.
Officer maybe ask you where you came from or where you are going to.
Please give us name of all passengers instead of ABC family, ABC company or Mr. A and his friends.
We can drive you around Vegas (Restaurant, other hotel/casino, etc) after you check in or next day whenever.
If you have somebody take with you to go back to California ,we can re-write trip order then we are legal.
But we are definitely not allowed to do following.
If additional pasenger go to just other hotel or restaurant in Vegas, it would be intra-state trip and our limo will be confiscated by Nevada DOT.
Please do not pick up any additional passenger, when we are in Nevada.
(unless they go back to California with you)
We can drive with only Original passengers from/to California .
