FAQ for 2009 Rate.
Q. Do you have Airport rate ? A. Yes. Our airport rate is 2 hours minimum of Base rate in most of LA county. Except Malibu, Simi Valley, Westlake village and beyond. Service charge(Built in gratuity) and Fuel surcharge are waived. and travel time doesn't apply. Some Limousine companies compete with Taxi cab rate because they do only airport and provide taxi quality. but They are not our rival and we don't compete with Taxi Cab. Q. Why your stretch rate different by number of people? A. Most likely you will receive 120" large size limo as automatic upgrade. But if upgrade is not available, we have to send you booked size. If you book limo for under 6 passenger rate, you maybe receive 72" small size limo (AKA 6 passengers limo). Upgrade is not guarantied. If you book limo for up to 9 passenger rate, you will receive 120" large size limo guarantied.
Q. What is "Portal to Portal" or "Travel time" ? A. That is Limo industry's standard system. Charge start from garage and it ends at garage. other industries use term as "Dead head" and "Dead back". We don't add it as actual time we spent to and from. Most of LA county is half an hour each way garage time. Orange county, Ventura county and San Diego county are different. Please ask when you book.
Q. Why fuel surcharge apply ? A. Limo rates had not been changed for more than decades. But cost of fuel, vehicle, maintenance and labor get up to triple since 1980's. Most of limo companies stay same rate as 1980's but add surcharge to survive. Some companies charge 6.5% fuel surcharge and 6.5% administration charge (I don't know what it is). Also, some companies charge Tax but I don't believe service is taxable. CS ride charges 5 % fuel surcharge and 20% service charge.
Q. Do you charge drinks and Ice in limo ? A. No. Those drink are our complementally. Unless you request specific items (i.e. Dom Perignon, etc), we don't charge extra for drinks in limo. We usually stock Water, Soda, Beer, juice and decanter of hard liquor (and Japanese Sake in my limo).
Q. What is "Service charge" ? Is it tip? A. State of California labor code defines differently between "Service charge" and "Tip". (Some companies use term "Gratuity" but it is wrong. Gratuity and Tip are same meaning in labor code) Service charge is part of contract between customer (client) and company. Tip is between customer/client and someone who actually did service. Most of Chauffeur work for minimum wage or little above. company use service charge for part of labor cost on top of regular (minimum) wage. Most of companies distribute whole amount to chauffeur but some companies distribute just part or none to chauffeur. (It is allowed by labor code) It's up to you if you want to give chauffeur a extra tip.
Q. but you own this company. every money you make goes to you, right? A. Actually it's not true. company and I are two different Individuals. and I have to set rate as if I have to firm-out jobs to my associates and/or if I hire extra chauffeurs. Believe me, Limo business look flashy but it's very low profit business.
Q. What is "Security" you state on Terms and Conditions ? A. It is very unique from other limo companies. My priority #1 is "Safety of passengers". It is not only Traffic Safety. Most of limo rides are at night time. sometimes you want to stop at fast food restaurant on mid-night at middle of nowhere. you maybe want to buy something at convenience store at 2:30am. CS ride contract with State licensed security company "Secure ride" to ensure safety of passengers. Security and Limousine are two different business licenses. Contract between Secure ride and CS ride are limited to Limousine passengers. He is a just like Hotel Security or Casino Security. He is not a your personal bodyguard unless you make direct contract with Secure ride (security company). He will not go to restaurant or club with you to protect you. He will make sure you are safe at "inside of limo", " get in and out of limo" to safely back home. At end of night, Limo won't leave until you safely enter your home.
Q. Do you actually own Sedans and SUVs ? A. No. those are my associates. You can even book Limo Bus or Hummer stretch. You can book to 3 different limo companies for different type of vehicle or book for all type of vehicles to CS Ride. It's all up to you but please remember that if you book 3 different vehicles to 3 different limo companies, all three chauffeur don't know each other and don't know how to communicate and maybe they would have different information from their office. If you use CS ride as gateway to all type of vehicle, CS ride will have responsible for coordinating all vehicles include quality of service.
Q. What is cancellation charge ? A. At 2 hours before pick up time, you may not get ready but we are. If you don't give us cancellation notice before 2 hours prior to pick up time, we have to charge you minimum charge. Because we maybe turn other booking down and already on the way to pick you up. Sometimes, clients missed flight or cancel restaurant reservations but forget to give us a call. There is no way for us to know if you cancel events or missed flight. Please give us a call.
